The U schedules IT change moratoriums throughout the year as approved by the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

The university's Palo Alto GlobalProtect virtual private network (VPN) client will be upgraded to a new version. Administrators of university-managed machines may download the 6.2.2 client from the Office of Software Licensing's software store or wait until the change is made. After the upgrade, GlobalProtect users will be prompted to update their clients when they connect to the VPN. The old client will continue to work in the event users have any problems with the update.

In response to user requests, UIT enabled disconnect tones: two quick beeps will signal when a caller or agent ends a call and updated the user interface for Avaya Workplace and Avaya Workplace for Agent.

A new version of the Campus Information Services (CIS) portal, which was released as a preview in August 2023, will become the standard CIS interface. No downtime is expected. CIS will switch to the new interface the first time users log in to the portal or reopen their browser after the change.

The Information Security Office (ISO) will migrate from Duo Traditional Prompt to Duo Universal Prompt. The upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to improve the IT security, user experience, and authentication options for University of Utah systems and applications.
