IT Enterprise Architecture

The University Information Technology (UIT) Enterprise Architecture team enables effective collaboration and solution alignment across the institution by utilizing frameworks that organize principles, artifacts, processes, templates, and reference models. The team provides standards to assist with ensuring that solutions align with The University of Utah's strategic plan.

IT Enterprise Architecture services include:

  • Enterprise Architecture Reviews

Enterprise Architecture Reviews support the development, enhancement, and/or acquisition of an information system to ensure that the design concept for the system aligns with the University’s enterprise IT architecture. Upon request, the Enterprise Architecture team schedules meetings with University organizations to complete an assessment and, if necessary, submit it to the U's Architecture and New Technology Committee (ANTC) for review. To request an Enterprise Architecture Review, please visit the UIT Service Catalog.

  • Community of Practice (CoP)

The Enterprise Architecture team facilitates the University's Network Architecture CoP, which is made up of individuals who regularly commit a significant part of their professional time engaged in specific architectural domains. The CoP provides recommendations on network technology architecture opportunities, initiatives, and issues, and is responsible for driving policy surrounding IP address management including private address space, DHCP, and special use cases.
