I'd like to give Tom Warnick, Adam Hughes, and Ryan Millward kudos to say thank you. They were fantastic this morning. Heading into the start of school, they took a potentially rough morning and plowed through the night to fix the root cause of a network routing error. Instead of start of school beginning with some "red" on the Orion dashboard, we got to hit the rush clean and green.
I'd like to also give kudos to Skylar Shyu, Alex Hawks, and Andrew Sroczynski of the student program. They worked with UIT Strategic Communication and launched an official student program site on it.utah.edu last week. It will serve as a key recruiting and information portal for those interested in the program and what it offers. An additional thank you to Lani Twitchell for assisting in the application form, and Jesse Drake for pulling it all together.

We would like to give kudos to David Young. He is the new DDC Warehouse Storekeeper. In a very short amount of time David has made huge improvements in the DDC warehouse. The warehouse is now well-organized and looking fantastic in an incredibly short amount of time. David responds quickly and with a very pleasant attitude. It is a pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic new addition to the UIT team.

Everyone needs a “Thank You!” now and again, and I think UIT Strategic Communication (Jesse Drake, Emily Rushton, and Cassandra Van Buren) is especially deserving. I appreciate the excellent support and service they provide. The efforts with the network website and news articles have been fantastic. The editing and proofing of our documents has been critical (engineers are not well known for their documentation abilities), and the assistance with incident, problem, and maintenance communication has been invaluable. And those are just a few of the many, many things StratComm has helped us with!

I would just like to give kudos to Tyler Sauer and Nathan Eldredge. These two have worked extremely hard and have gone above and beyond to ensure that the campus fire alarm systems are communicating. Our VLANs were a mess, and these two have overseen and made sure that the Fire Prevention staff have access to their systems. Both Tyler and Nathan have taken phone calls, text messages, and random emails from me freaking out that we weren't connected or that someone had moved one of my cables. They have never been anything but patient and professional and willing to work with me and our vendor to get it right.
