How do i Clear my Browser Cache?
Sometimes when you try to bring up a web page, the page comes up just fine but when you click a link from that page, nothing happens. This is because your web browser has cached (stored) the page on your hard drive and rather than going over the network to load the page, it has loaded the cached copy. Fix this problem by opening your web browser and clearing the disk cache.

How do I Check Proxy Server Settings?
Having a proxy server setup in your web browser may cause a problem with your Internet connection if it is left on all of the time. Example: You could be connected to the Internet but you are unable to browse the web.
If you are on campus, you should not need to have a Proxy setup in your web browser for Campus Resources, like the Marriot Library's Electronic Journals. Except for connections at the hospital which require Proxy servers all of the time. Instructions can be found by searching for "Proxy" on the HSC Support site http://support.med.utah.edu
Internet Explorer 7 and 8
- Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
- Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.
- Select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.
- The Address box will list any proxy servers being used.
Internet Explorer 6 for Windows
- Launch the browser and go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings button.
- The boxes in the window that opens identify any proxies in use.
Mac OS X
- Go to System Preferences > Network > Proxies tab.
- Make sure that the Secure Web Proxy and Web Proxy (HTTP) boxes are unchecked.
- Click Apply Now to save any changes.
- Close the System Preferences window.
