The annual University Information Technology (UIT) holiday party reached new heights on Tuesday, December 15. The event, which honors UIT associates for their service, was held at the Varsity Room on the sixth floor of Rice-Eccles stadium. In addition to stunning views of a snow-covered campus, staff members were greeted with UIT-branded tumblers stuffed with a UIT pen and raffle ticket. Following a catered lunch and some words of appreciation from Chief Information Officer Steve Hess, the raffle drawing was held. Lucky winners received an iPod Shuffle, Amazon Fire TV stick, FitBit, Magic Bullet, Mr. Coffee Espresso-maker, tickets to the Red Butte Garden, UIT-branded gym bags and more. After expressing his gratitude for the dedication of UIT staff, John Nixon, Senior Chief Administrator Officer and Chief Financial Officer, surprised everyone by giving away two eight-hour vacation days.
