On Friday, Oct. 24, Common Infrastructure Services spent an afternoon away to celebrate the completion of several big projects and dozens of accomplishments, taking over the bowling and billiards areas of the A. Ray Olpin Union.
"A year ago, when we were first getting together as a team, I said, 'Let's do this' and everybody loved it. So we decided to do it again." said CIS Director Mike Ekstrom.
Much of the team gathered for pizza, sandwiches, cake, and some well-deserved recreation time.
"There are so many projects that all of you guys have had to bust your butt for — building construction and cable and fiber, Exadata, PCI, Infoblox, etc.," Ekstrom said. "That's the nature of infrastructure. We're the highway that everyone has to drive on. We have potholes. Everyone likes to yell at us about the potholes, but you know what guys? You're doing a really great job. I really, really appreciate all you're doing.
"The amount of productivity you produce is incredible."
