General info

When: Thursday, June 5, 2025, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Boondocks Food & Fun, 75 E. Southfork Drive, Draper [map]

Transportation

Transit: Use UTA On Demand from the nearest TRAX, FrontRunner, or bus station.

Parking: Boondocks offers plenty of parking in the surface lot around its building.

Directions: From I-15, take exit 289 to UT-154/Bangerter Highway. Turn right on to Southfork Drive. Turn right at the signs for Boondocks and then take a slight left to enter the parking lot. [map]

Tickets

To reserve your spot and ensure an accurate food/beverage order, please register using the Qualtrics survey you received via UMail. Please be sure to provide your first and last name, which we will use to check you in at the party. We will not distribute paper or digital tickets.

I am a new employee. Can I attend?

Employees hired after the registration deadline (May 16) may attend if space is available.

Managers should contact stratcomm@it.utah.edu as soon as possible if they anticipate onboarding new employees after May 16.

I can no longer attend the party. What should I do?

If you registered for the party but can no longer attend, please email stratcomm@it.utah.edu so we can give your seat to the next person on the wait list.

I registered but did not receive a ticket.

Boondocks and UIT staff will check guests in by name as they arrive. We will not distribute paper or digital tickets.

Menu

Lunch features a Southwestern buffet. It will be served from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Soda, lemonade, iced tea, and water
• Fajitas with barbacoa beef, grilled chicken, pork carnitas, peppers and onions, and flour tortillas
• Spanish rice
• Black beans
• Toppings, including shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, scallions, jalapenos, and lime
• Corn tortilla chips with guacamole, salsa, and pico de gallo
• Assorted cookies

A separate buffet with alternative options will be available for vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free, and dairy-free diners. A detailed menu will be sent to those with special dietary needs before the party, and dishes will be labeled appropriately.

Activities

Attraction pass

Registered guests will receive a wristband at check-in. Wristbands provide unlimited four-hour access to all of Boondocks’ attractions, which include bowling, bumper boats, go-karts, laser tag, miniature golf, ropes course with zip line, and XD Dark Ride.

Arcade games

Registered guests will also receive a $5 arcade card at check-in. The card can be used at any of Boondocks’ 100+ games. Guests may also reuse or reload their cards.

Recommended Attire

We recommend business casual, work-appropriate attire that you can do activities in. Please keep in mind that some attractions are outside.

FAQs

Is Wi-Fi available at Boondocks?

Yes. Select “BDFF Guest” in your device’s Wi-Fi settings. The password is “iluvboondocks” — all lowercase. If you choose to use Boondocks’ internet, please remember to use the campus VPN to access university resources.
