Thomas Howa named UIT's Associate Director of Business Intelligence
Thomas Howa, associate director of Business Intelligence
UIT is pleased to announce that Thomas Howa has accepted the position as Associate Director of Business Intelligence for University Support Services (USS) within University Information Technology (UIT), effective December 2014.
Tom comes to USS with a vast corporate background focusing on manufacturing and banking. He has devoted his career to business intelligence and business analysis, with his most recent experience at Zions Bancorporation. During his seven years at Zions, he developed a culture of data-driven decision making, analytics, model validation, and performance metrics. His business intelligence initiatives included analytics on all transactions and customers for eight distinct affiliate banks, as well as consolidating that information for Bancorp reporting.
Tom earned a BS in Information Systems from Utah State University and is currently earning his MS in Information Systems from the University of Utah. Additionally, he has a Certified Business Analysis Professional license from the International Institute of Business Analysis.
As Associate Director of Business Intelligence for USS, Tom will continue to grow the Business Intelligence (BI) unit to provide data analytics to colleges and departments across campus.
