Thomas named interim director for TLT
Jon Thomas has been appointed to serve as the interim director of Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT), effective immediately. In this position, Jon joins the UIT and Academic Affairs leadership teams on an interim basis and will report jointly to Cory Stokes, associate dean of Undergraduate Studies & UOnline director, and Steve Corbató, Interim CIO. Jon’s interim responsibilities include managing TLT's fifty staff members; AV systems in more than 200 campus classrooms; the Canvas, Kaltura and Equella teaching technology core platforms; and instructional design, course development, service desk, and testing center services.
Jon has worked as the Associate Director and Manager of Course Support in TLT since 2011, having previously worked at USU, enPraxis/COSL, and Walmart corporate headquarters in various technical roles and as a teaching assistant. He has a B.S. degree in business management from BYU, an M.S. degree from USU in instructional technology and learning services, and is in the dissertation stage of a Ph.D. program in instructional technology and learning sciences at USU.
