Radia Perlman to speak at School of Computing colloquium

Radia Perlman, inventor of the spanning-tree protocol (STP), will be giving a lecture at a colloquium hosted by the School of Computing on Wednesday, February 25. The lecture will cover topics such as: trust models for PKI that are manageable and scalable, the security implications of authentication systems based on public keys (PKI) vs. secret keys (e.g., Kerberos) vs. bearer tokens, user interface issues, misunderstanding which parties pose a threat, and more.
