Kudos & Congratulations
UIT staff recognized for their excellent work
Kudos to Anita Orendt and Wim Cardoen for representing the University of Utah at the recent face-to-face meeting at the University of Wisconsin of the National Science Foundation's ACI-REF program. ACI-REF, or "Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Research and Education Facilitators," aim to empower the academic "missing middle" of ACI users. ~ Tom Cheatham
Jasmin Davis was able to recruit 35 volunteer staff from all over campus for the Adobe Day event. They all worked together cohesively to make Adobe Day run smoothly. This event would not be possible without the leadership of Jasmin and the support from the campus volunteers. I talked with our Adobe reps and they were thrilled with the outcome! ~ Lisa Kuhn
UTV manager John Wardle and student Michael Frogget went beyond the call of duty to assist the Huntsman Cancer Institute with tuning more than 170 televisions after-hours. Adjusting TVs in some rooms even required them to don gowns and follow anti-contamination procedures! This is not something UTV staff typically do, but special circumstances call for special effort, so thanks John and Michael. ~ Caprice Post
Thanks to the USS QA team & Margaret Witbeck in OSL for their hard work testing to prepare for the Adobe rollout! Great job and thanks to all! ~ Debbie Rakhsha
There were half as many help desk tickets filed at the start of school compared with last year. All UIT employees were asked to be extra vigilant to make the beginning of the semester a smooth one, and you did it. Thank you! ~ UIT leadership team
