About
Engineering delivers application development, integration, and technical support across a wide range of university systems.
Engineering teams partner with Product Management, UX/UI, QA, and campus stakeholders to build, maintain, and improve secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.

Specialized Teams
Engineering is an umbrella area that includes multiple specialized teams. Each team supports specific systems and has its own intake and engagement process.

PS Architecture & Security Admin Team
The Security and Architecture team is responsible for managing and safeguarding access to the University’s PeopleSoft environments, including Campus Solutions (Student), Financials, Human Resources, and HR Help Desk.

HR/Auxiliary Engineering Team
The HR/AUX Engineering team designs, builds, maintains, and supports technology solutions for Human Resources systems and a broad portfolio of Auxiliary applications.

Student Engineering Team
The Student Engineering team designs, develops, and supports student-facing systems and integrations that power academic, enrollment, and student life experiences across the university.

Faculty, Finance, and Research Team
The FFR team supports PeopleSoft and related applications used by Finance, Faculty, and Research organizations across the university.

Partner Consulting Services Team
Partner Consulting Services works with campus partners to deliver consulting, development, and technical support services that align technology solutions with institutional needs.

PS Architecture & Security Admin Team
Services include:
- PeopleSoft security provisioning and deprovisioning
- Manage and safeguards user access to the University’s PeopleSoft environments.
- PeopleSoft architecture maintenance
- Lead the design, governance, and ongoing maintenance of PeopleSoft technical architecture to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that align with platform capabilities and long-term institutional needs.

Submit a ServiceNow request for PeopleSoft access or Security support.
HR/Auxiliary Engineering Team
Services include technical implementation, enhancement, integration, and operational support for:
- HR systems (including PeopleSoft HCM and related HR applications)
- Applications and integrations supporting Auxiliary departments

Contact your HR representative, HR Help Desk, or Auxiliary department, who will route requests as needed.
Student Engineering Team
Services include:
- Support and maintenance of university-wide student systems
- Implementation and support of third-party integrations with PeopleSoft
- Consultation on student software procurement
- Delivery of IT projects for student systems

Finance, Faculty, and Research (FFR) Team
Services include:
- PeopleSoft support and enhancements
- Creation of targeted, high-value enhancements within PeopleSoft
- Support for integrations and backend processing powering university applications
- Custom web application development, support and enhancements
- Design and development of new web-based tools for financial, faculty, and research operations
- Implementation of modern UI/UX patterns to support intuitive user experiences
- Application enhancements that expand functionality and improve efficiency for existing web applications
- Technical debt management and system stability
- Focus on delivering reliable, stable applications, with high up-time and low rates of failure
- Enhancements aimed at eliminating known issues and streamlining workflows
- Support Third-Party Integrations
- Support for integrations and backend processing powering university applications

Submit requests via FSTS, ORIS, or OSP, depending on system and request type.
Partner Consulting Services Team
Services include:
- Northstar application development & support
- Enhancements, maintenance, bug fixes, and new feature development for the Northstar student management system.
- GIS & campus mapping solutions
- Development and support of GIS applications, including the campus map and MyClassMap, in partnership with campus stakeholders.
- API development & integration
- Design, development, and integration of enterprise APIs across campus and system applications.
- API gateway management
- Administration of the API gateway and onboarding support for consumers of shared API resources.
- Application modernization
- Technical upgrades and modernization initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve long-term sustainability.
- Enterprise application support
- Support for additional system applications, including scholarship and loan repayment systems.
