Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
About
The GIS team operates as both a platform (secure, reliable GIS services) and a product team (maps, apps, data products, analytics). We support departments university wide with in house enterprise service deployments and app development and maintenance.
Our most used applications include the Campus Map, UPark, and MyClassMap, with a handful of internal-use only tools as well for security or facilities management.

Services
GIS platform and operations
Maintain and support secure, stable GIS infrastructure, including access management, publishing support, integrations, and platform troubleshooting.
Maps and applications development
Design, build, and enhance interactive maps and operational applications such as Campus Map, MyClass Map, UPark, SAM, Kiosk Maps, Walk After Dark, Green Map, and the GIS Portal.
Authoritative geospatial data stewardship
Publish, validate, and maintain trusted spatial datasets; define data ownership, refresh cycles, and documentation standards for campus reuse.
Spatial analytics and dashboards
Deliver routing, proximity, coverage analysis, KPI mapping, and outcome-driven dashboards to inform operational and strategic decisions.
Consulting and GIS enablement
Provide solution design guidance, standards and architecture reviews, and best practices to help campus units adopt and use GIS effectively.
