Project Management Office

The University Information Technology (UIT) Project Management Office (PMO) is a service organization that manages cross-functional IT projects to deliver business value and align with The University of Utah's strategic plan.

UIT leads projects that affect many thousands of people across The University of Utah. Examples of the types of projects we work on are:

  • Software and website development
  • IT security
  • Large-scale migrations
  • Infrastructure (e.g. wired and wireless networks; copper and fiber optic cabling)
  • Telecommunications

Due to the large number of projects (200 active IT projects at any given time), we primarily manage those projects that have been vetted and approved through the university's IT governance process and interim President Michael Good's Executive Leadership Team.
