This year’s Employee Appreciation Day (EAD) will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Rice-Eccles Stadium. All university personnel with CIS credentials, including student employees, are encouraged to attend. Please speak with your supervisor to make sure attending EAD doesn’t conflict with work commitments.

EAD guests can expect free food, drinks, and dessert, as well as free tote bags courtesy of presenting partner TIAA Financial Services. Activities include booths and swag from U of U departments and local businesses; an expanded crafters corner where you can purchase pottery, jewelry, and other artistic creations by U of U employees; a service corner where you can volunteer to stuff hygiene kits and write words of encouragement for people using the services of Rescue Mission of Salt Lake City; and roaming buskers and entertainers, including the return of master juggler Tanner Adler.

There will be several new offerings at this year’s EAD:

Virtual EAD

U staff members unable to attend the in-person event are invited to join a U of U Plus virtual EAD game. U of U Plus is a new loyalty program for U staff, faculty, students, and alumni that will feature unique challenges for U employees during EAD week, September 16-20, 2024.

New food option

In addition to pizza, sandwiches will be made available this year.

New entry procedure

Guests must check in and verify their employment status by scanning a QR code on signage at the west or east entrances of the stadium; so in addition to bringing your UCard, cellphones are highly recommended.
