Campus Vignette: Innovate U website hosts news on breakthrough research

The University of Utah is one of 146 Carnegie Commission on Higher Education-classified R1 research institutions in the United States. A previous Campus Vignette details what that means, but in essence, the coveted classification recognizes the U as one of America’s premier research universities based on the number of research doctorates it awards and how much academic research funding it receives.

To keep tabs on all of the breakthrough discoveries, the university recently launched the website Innovate U, a central source for news coming out of the U’s research community.

Below is a small sample of U research stories across several disciplines:
