UIT is pleased to announce that Nathan Sanders has been named associate director for Online Operations in the Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) organization, reporting to TLT Director Jon Thomas.
"Nate is one of the most competent, honest, and generous leaders I know," Thomas said. "He has a long history with the University of Utah and brings to the position a considerable background in designing learning experiences. I can't imagine a better person to head up our course development and support efforts."
Sanders previously served in TLT as instructional design manager, Learning Management System (LMS) administrator, senior instructional designer, and learning consultant, among other roles.
In his new position, Sanders will oversee Canvas LMS administration and, as needed, integrate third-party software with the university's core learning systems; lead efforts to pilot, procure, adopt, and scale learning technologies; direct the work of Exam Services at the UOnline Center; assign projects to course development and support teams; create and manage budgets; provide UOnline program support for U partners such as Curriculum Administration and academic leaders across the colleges; partner with peer institutions; consult with university governance committees; and provide evidence-based insights to advisory boards and user committees, among other duties.
Sanders holds a Bachelor of Teacher Technology Education degree from Brigham Young University, and a Master of Instructional Technology degree from Utah State University.
Please join us in welcoming Sanders to TLT's Online Operations group.
