A local celebrity graced the 15th annual ITS-UIT golf tournament held September 12. To the amusement and occasional chagrin of players, a golf ball-stealing red fox named “Roxy” followed teams around the pine and willow tree-framed fairways of the course.

Employee Feature: Earl Lewis enjoys the low maintenance, do-it-yurtself life

The desert around Earl Lewis’ vacation home in northeastern Utah — a yurt in Vernal, his wife’s hometown — teems with life. Nestled among slickrock and sagebrush, the yurt sits on a 375-acre family property near Moonshine Arch, about 30 miles west of the Colorado border.

Vet clinic was Nate Bradford's first foray into health care

UIT’s Nate Bradford with one of his pet patients during his time working at a Banfield Pet Hospital location in Oxnard, California.

The UIT system administrator worked in a veterinary clinic for two years. The experience taught him “to get started without waiting for confidence to kick in” and inspired him to pivot into a health care-supporting role at the university.

The Utah Olympic Oval welcomed about 185 UIT staff members on December 11, 2023, for the annual UIT Holiday Luncheon, which featured winter activities, including a curling workshop taught by Olympic gold and silver medalist Derek Parra using stones from the 2002 Winter Olympics.
