UIT is pleased to announce that Barb Iannucci has been promoted to Associate Director of Content & Usability for UIT University Support Services (USS).
“I’m very pleased Barb has been promoted,” said Ken Pink, Deputy CIO. “Her new title is well-deserved, and a better reflection of the work she’s already been doing for UIT.”
Iannucci boasts more than 12 years’ experience designing, developing, and supporting web applications and websites for the University of Utah. After graduating with a BS in computer science from the U, Iannucci began her career as the Senior Web Developer for the David Eccles School of Business. She oversaw two content management system implementations, two major website redesigns, and a number of homegrown applications, before transitioning to UIT in 2010.
Most recently, she has served as the manager of the Content & Usability team since May 2014, and during that time her role has continued to expand. Iannucci’s promotion to AD simply better fits what she has already been doing in her role as manager for quite some time.
Iannucci’s group’s mission is twofold: to provide website support services for colleges, departments, and other U-affiliated organizations; and to provide a usability/user experience role for USS’s web engineering teams. The group currently supports 172 University websites, and they've assisted USS engineering teams with countless applications.
“If you were to really break it down to what we strive to do, I would say we try to improve the University’s web presence overall,” said Iannucci. “We’re really focused on the University’s web presence and supporting best practices for usability.”
In her spare time, Iannucci enjoys reading and going to concerts and music festivals.
Please join UIT in congratulating Iannucci on her new position within USS.
