Kudos & Congratulations

Congratulations to Stacey Wood (Campus Computer Support) and Dave Rasmussen (UIT Platform Services) for winning last month's prize drawing!

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work

Thanks to Nate Sanders, who was instrumental in helping me get special features activated in an online course for Continuing Education and Community Engagement. I really appreciate his willingness to problem-solve, even when the problems are mine and not his!

~ Jane Wolfarth, Teaching & Learning Technologies

Bryan Peterson, Brett Tarbox, Mike Madsen, and Ryan Cooper all deserve a great big round of applause for their efforts in helping to implement the pilot programs for RSA two-factor authentication within the ITS department, as well as for our offshore medical billing vendors. They have each been amazing to work with and have spent countless hours in preparing for and supporting this effort.

~ Jodi Kunz, Information Security Office

I would like to nominate Vaibhav Narula for a Kudos and Congratulations. Vaibhav started at the University only a few short months ago and has already made a positive impact to the IAM team and program. Vaibhav started right around a Rebus outage and impressed us all with his dedication to the resolution and ability to hit the ground running. He also brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and is great at communicating what he knows to the team members while supporting them in their roles. I have appreciated Vaibhav’s support on the Directory Services Consolidation project and the efficiencies he brings to our projects and processes.

I’d like to give a huge shout out to the accounting team members responsible for preparing the UIT budgets (Brandon Zimmerman, Craig Stapley, Jeanne Krogen, Julia Harrison (CHPC), Matt Timpson, Wendy Janversan). The budget process is a prolonged, stressful, and challenging endeavor, that requires a great amount of collaboration to sort out the details. This team has done a fantastic job as we continue to refine the final budgets for the next fiscal year. Thank you all for your hard work!

~ Peter Panos, Finance

Tyler Sauer recently moved to a position on the Network Core team mentoring the Network Operations Center student staff. Tyler has been a great resource for us and is working hard to streamline work processes involving the student staff, freeing up more time to work on other projects and further enrich our time here with UIT.

~ Brian Sorensen, Common Infrastructure Services

Anyone can submit an item for Kudos & Congrats!

Simply email praise for your UIT colleagues to stratcomm@it.utah.edu. The people you recognize will be put into a drawing to win gift cards, event tickets, merchandise and more. Those who submit entries will also be put in a separate drawing for more prizes. (Directors and associate/assistant directors not eligible for prizes.)

A special thank you to some exceptional campus organizations that, in the past, have donated tickets, merchandise, and gift cards to help recognize UIT employees: Athletics, Auxiliary Services, Dining Services, Kingsbury Hall, Pioneer Theatre Company, Red Butte Garden, UIT Leadership, and Utah Museum of Fine Art.
