Marriott Library offers free mobile internet access hotspots

Note (7/10/2017): Funding for this service has been extended until at least July 1, 2018.

Mobile hotspot graphicMobile hotspot devices are available at the Marriott Library for a free three-day checkout to current University of Utah students, staff, and faculty. Patrons can use a hotspot to connect laptops, tablets, and smartphones to the internet from any location with T-Mobile service (not limited to campus).

This service is being offered as part of a three-month pilot program sponsored by University Information Technology (UIT) and the Marriott Library. The pilot is scheduled to end at the close of spring semester 2016.

If you'd like to borrow a hotspot, they're available at the Student Computing Services desk on Level 2 of the Marriott Library. Twenty-five of the devices are available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis during regular library hours.

If you have questions about the pilot program, please contact Devin Donaldson, Student Computing Services, Marriott Library at devin.donaldson@utah.edu.
