Kudos & Congratulations

Congratulations to Gaitlan Hammon (UIT Unified Communications) and Peter Mo (Software Platform Services) for winning the previous prize drawing!

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work

Lisa Osborne was an excellent asset in coordinating a round-robin move in our department. Everything ran smoothly and the techs on the floors were so helpful in rolling with some last-minute changes as well.

~ SarahJo Ward, Revenue Cycle Support Services, University Health

Wanted to give kudos to Dave Coon for being willing to drop everything and help us here in the Park Building with whatever we needed after the flood. He brought his van and helped load equipment to clear out mine and Christian's offices and work on getting all the machines and monitors sent to surplus or moved where they needed to be. Thanks again!

~ Ian Boss, Campus Computer Support

Once again, the UIT Semester Start Task Force did a tremendous job preparing for the new academic year, with the goal of maintaining the stability, accessibility, and reliability of university IT systems. Kudos to chair Trevor Long and members Craig Bennion, Mike Ekstrom, Shawn Halladay, Syndi Haywood, Monty Kaufusi, Pamela Kendall, Scott Lloyd, Peter Mo, Jason Moeller, Dave Packham,  James Rice, Chris Stucker, Kim Tanner, and Jon Thomas. Your efforts, going back to May 2018, are much appreciated by all.

~ Cassandra Van Buren, UIT Strategic Communication

I would like to sincerely thank my team, Lisa Osborne, Teri Pearson, Todd Smith, and Eric Jensen, for their invaluable support while I was on medical leave. They handled my projects flawlessly and allowed me to come back to work with very few issues to manage. I greatly appreciate that I was able to be out of the office and focus on my recovery with the reassurance that I didn't need to worry about anything in my absence. I am so fortunate to be part of such a stellar team.

~ Amy Talbot, Network and Communications Infrastructure

I would like to thank Rachael Sheedy for her excellent work for the UIT PMO over the past year. She did a stellar job as a project manager and delivered on multiple critical projects for the University. I would also like to congratulate her on her new position as student product manager. The PMO is sad to lose her but happy she is still with UIT.

~ Jill Brinton, Project Management Office

I wanted to take a moment to let you know of the amazing customer service that we continually receive from Glen Cameron. Here in Payroll we continually run into issues where we need assistance with either a printer, sealer, or some other type of machine in order to keep checks printing. Each time I reach out to Glen, he responds within minutes to my request and has a fix within that day. He is always pleasant, kind beyond belief and never hesitates to educate me and my staff when we do not understand the workings of the machines.

Glen and his staff are a true treasure to the University and are such a joy to work with. I just wanted you to know that you have amazing staff. Not everyone takes time to let others know of the great work being done throughout the University. I just wanted to make sure you knew about the wonderful work that they do that affects and assists others.

~ Susan Bird, Human Resources

Thank you Craig Stapley and Brandon Zimmerman for helping this newbie through the purchasing card process. I can always count on Craig, Brandon, and our entire accounting staff, to be patient and attentive. Appreciate you all.

~ Jesse Drake, UIT Strategic Communication

I would like to give a shout-out to the StratComm team (Cassandra Van Buren, Jesse Drake, formerly Emily Rushton, currently Larrisa Turner). Communications are often the last thing IT people remember to coordinate when implementing IT projects or running IT operations (oh ... just me?), but they are among the most important elements of success. The StratComm team always responds to my last-minute communication requests with promptness, professionalism, and friendly attitudes. I truly appreciate the services they provide and the manner with which they provide them with.

They always make me look far more smart and professional than I actually am. ;)

~ Barb Iannucci, University Support Services

I would like to recognize Vaibhav Narula for the dedicated work he brings to the job every day. Whether from the office, on the go, at home or even on vacation (although that should not be celebrated), V has provided my team a lot of help in addition to all of his normal day-to-day operations with his own team (ISO/IAM), and understands it takes a village and does his best to bring that spirit to his work. This is not to detract from all of the individuals in systems who do exactly the same thing day in, day out to support my team and whom we do not thank enough!
