The Smells Like Team Spirit Committee wrapped its 2025 fall festivities with a Halloween celebration and trivia event for University Support Services (USS), Partner Relations, Project Management Office (PMO), Strategic Communication, and Strategic Planning and Process Team employees.
On October 29, employees participated in a Spooky Halloween Party featuring creative contests, a screening of “Beetlejuice,” trivia, and lunch. Costumes varied from Pee-wee Herman and a “The Price is Right” contestant to pirates and a shark wearing Nike sneakers. Decorated pumpkins ranged from a carved bear paw to a painted sugar skull.
Dave Sexton, who dressed as Max from “Where the Wild Things Are,” won the costume contest, and Scott Wilgar, who delicately carved the headless horseman from “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” claimed victory in the pumpkin decoration contest. The USS Web Support & Usability and StratComm groups won the team area decoration contest with a floor-to-ceiling imitation of a retro arcade. Winners received small trophies.
On November 10, the committee hosted a trivia and treats event, emceed by Patrick Harris. Questions included literature, pop culture, sports, animals, history, and more.
A huge thanks to the committee members who planned and hosted the events: Abbey Allen, Sither Dolma, Shellie Eide, Harris, Emily Jacoby, Tammy Mabey, Reza Sarijlou, Ammon Thomson, Kristi Vandenham, and Eric Watson.
