UIT is proud to unveil ai.utah.edu, a website dedicated to artificial intelligence-related resources and initiatives at the University of Utah. The website is part of a broader effort to find common ground on how generative AI tools should and shouldn’t be used for learning and work.

New podcast studio opens in Kahlert Village

A newly completed podcast studio inside Kahlert Village, home of Adobe Creative Commons, “meets students where they’re at,” designer Tony Sams says. The studio is outfitted with all the Rode brand components needed to record up to a four-person podcast.

Software savings make life at the U more affordable

IT Governance

No IT governance groups met in August. The Strategic Information Technology Committee will reconvene on September 10, the Teaching and Learning Portfolio will assemble on September 17, the Architecture and New Technology Committee meets again on September 23, and the Enterprise Web Advisory Council will next meet on October 10.

Microsoft login service upgrade begins on August 6

Patrick Harris, technical writer, UIT Strategic Communication

Patrick Harris, a technical writer for UIT’s Strategic Communication group hosted a virtual town hall meeting on July 18 about internal documentation services for UIT teams. In addition to being UIT’s resident documentation specialist, Harris is co-chair of the ITS-UIT Documentation Community of Practice.
