Kudos & Congratulations

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work

Congratulations to Tyler Chmelik and Matt Munro (both from the CTO organization) for winning the last prize drawing!

I want to give a Kudos to Matt DeYoung. I really appreciate the way he stepped into the role of being our subject matter expert (SME) for our vulnerability management tool. I continually hear from others that he is great to work with and they also appreciate his efforts.

I want to give a big thank you to Dan Jenkins. Dan is so easy to work with and he is always willing to step to a challenge and help out. When he says he is going to do something he does it. Thanks for always helping us out and being a team player, Dan!

~ Dustin Udy, Information Security Office

Stephen Campbell is very hardworking, and he makes sure everything is done thoroughly and correctly.

Elaine Gallegos is a fantastic manager and does a very good job of explaining and showing what needs to be done and gives very good feedback. She is also very flexible and understanding of others, making her very easy to work with.

~ Joseph Bridges, Network Services

Perhaps one of our highest missions at the University of Utah is to teach. In a recent engagement for the Campus Store, Jim Urry taught four of their student interns our process of workflow analysis. The project itself was very large. The interns picked up the methodology and absolutely ran with it. They are even using it on new projects. It is pretty cool to see them keep reaching out to Jim for coaching and mentorship. Let’s take any chance to empower the students. Thank you, Jim!

~ Jeff Shuckra, Deputy CIO organization

I want to thank Tejas Ved and Riya Ajay Singh for all the hard work they have been putting into our cloud initiative. Through every challenge, they have been determined and productive in finding a solution. I especially appreciate Tejas’ attention to detail with the an eye on security, and raising a flag of awareness where he sees risk. Thank you both for all of your work!

~ Ryan Millward, Information Security Office

Heather Winters has helped me with a ton of work the last two days to ensure a smooth transition for my team to a new phone system. I am so appreciative of all the work she’s put in to support us!

~ Shalee Blain, OB/GYN Clinical

Denise Kovacevic is a valuable team player and laughs in the face of chaos. I really appreciate her taking the reins on phone repair tickets this week and she’s killing it! I just want to thank her for being wonderful and positive 100% of the time!

Kudos as well to Alisha Webb for stepping up while we are short handed in this busy time of year. She has taken on more in the last week and it is appreciated. Thank you for all your hard work!

Corey Hayes, thank you for all your help with the call recording while we were short help for a week. I couldn’t have done it without you! You are truly the best!

~ Samantha Lankford, CTO organization

Thomas Murray was quick, efficient and kind while trading out my old phone for a new phone. He was also patient while I typed the web address incorrectly for device setup. Would definitely choose him if I need more help from UIT.
