ITIL website revamped, new class dates announced

UIT has migrated resources related to the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to a new website — https://it.utah.edu/itil/.

A practical understanding of ITIL, which is a set of practices and a framework for IT service and asset management, is the basis for ITIL 4 Foundations classes taught by University of Utah instructors.

Going forward, please refer to the university’s new ITIL homepage, which has been migrated to a Modern Campus CMS template, for ITIL-related information and course dates, and update your bookmarks as needed.

In ITIL classes, participants will learn that the service value system comprises five parts that interact with each other and external stakeholders to co-create value. (Copyright AXELOS Limited 2019. All rights reserved.)

ITIL 4 Foundations classes prepare attendees for the ITIL Foundation in Service Management exam. The two-day online course covers ITIL Guiding Principles, the Four Dimensions of Service Management, the Service Value System, and Service Management best practices through lectures, discussions, and case study exercises.

The course costs $481 per university employee and covers all training materials and the exam. University Information Technology (UIT) and Information Technology Services (ITS) units must pay for ITIL training for their staff members, so before registering, please check with your manager to ensure that staff development funds are available. The cost for non-university participants is $1,595. Class size is limited to 15 or fewer students.

Email ITSM Process Manager Craig Bennion, one of the course instructors, at craig.bennion@utah.edu to register or if you have any questions.
