Kudos & Congratulations

Congratulations to Dusty Argyle (Common Infrastructure Services) for winning last month's prize drawing!

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work!

Michael Madsen and his service desk team are awesome to work with! I have interacted with Mike on a weekly basis over the last several months and he has impressed me with his dedication to excellent customer service, his responsiveness, and his willingness to help with progress and efficiency. Mike has made the project we are working on together more manageable and has provided insight crucial to making the implementation successful. Not only is he pleasant to work with and always present, but his team members are also dedicated to respond quickly to requests and I am always able to get the information I need, when I need it from him and his team. Recently he was asked to take on additional ongoing work in order to enable a certain aspect of our project and he made it happen with no delay. Thanks, Mike and the Service Desk team for being so great to work with!

~ Jodi Kunz, Information Security Office

I would like to nominate Pat Burton, Allan Hill, and Brad Grow for their work on fast-tracking the DARs upgrade and release.

~ Jill Brinton, Project Management Office

We'd like to highlight two new employees, Colette Durrant and Chonghuan Xia.

Colette, who has a B.S. in Business Management, joined CHPC's staff in April as an administrative assistant and has jumped in with both feet. She has taken on placing orders for our department at a very busy time of year. We would like to thank her for her great attitude and willingness to grapple with the many new systems and complexities in our environment. CHPC welcomes Colette and her bright and friendly personality into our group.

Chonghuan Xia recently joined CHPC staff as a software developer. She finished her B.S. in Computer Science this past semester. She has a quiet, sweet personality, and has become familiar with many aspects of our applications quickly. CHPC thanks Chonghuan for the many improvements she’s already made. Welcome Chonghuan!

~ Julia Harrison, Center for High Performance Computing

I’d like to give a huge thanks to the campus telephone operators. Whenever UIT has a department party, the operators stay to provide coverage for the phones. They do a great job dealing with everything and anything that gets thrown at them. They are friendly and understanding no matter who is on the other end of the phone.

I’d specifically like to recognize Robin Horton and Janet Ramirez. I have never in my entire life heard Robin be upset with anyone. With grace and a smile on her face, she deals with all the difficult calls she receives. She truly cares about all the people around her. She’s just awesome.

Janet is always here - she rarely takes time off, and she’s one of those rock solid employees that is always available, always doing her job, and always here to deal with whatever might be going on. Thanks to you both, and the entire telephone operator team, for doing such a fantastic job. You all deserve our thanks!

~ Stacey Wood, Campus Computer Support
