Photos: UberPuppies pays a visit to USS
On March 23, University Support Services (USS) employees were treated to a special visit by not one, but two adorable puppies - along with Utah Jazz player Trey Lyles. This is the second year in a row that USS administrative officer Alijana Kahriman has coordinated the event, which she does to increase employee morale.
"It seems to be a hit down here," she said.
Here's how it works: Uber offers to bring puppies to your workplace during National Puppy Day, partnering with a local rescue organization (this year was Nuzzles & Co.) with the goal of increasing pet adoptions. The puppy visits are usually high in demand, and it takes some perseverence to get added to the list.
"It took about two hours of repeatedly tapping the "Request Puppy" option on the Uber app until I got through," said Kahriman. "It was a surprise to have [Trey Lyles] come, which was nice because some of our sports fans really enjoyed it."
