Jeff Shuckra is named associate director for the UIT Strategic Planning and Process Team

UIT is pleased to announce that Jeff Shuckra has been named associate director for the UIT Strategic Planning and Process (SPP) team, effective Monday, May 16, 2022. Shuckra will report to Deputy Chief Information Officer Ken Pink.

“Jeff’s a proven leader in process, change, and product management,” Pink said. “With more than 19 years of service to the U, he has extensive organizational change expertise and management experience, and is a proactive planner and collaborator. I couldn’t be happier to announce his promotion.”

Shuckra has served as interim associate director since the departure of Chalimar Swain, who accepted another position at the University of Utah.

Shuckra takes on this new role after serving as senior business analyst on the SPP team and senior product manager for U of U and University of Utah Health instances of ServiceNow, the common IT service management platform used by UIT and Information Technology Services (ITS). Prior to joining the Strategic Planning and Process Team, Shuckra served a variety of roles at the university, including manager of the ITSM Process Support & Disaster Recovery Team in the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organization, disaster recovery principal program manager, change and release manager, and network engineer.

As associate director, Shuckra will assemble process requirements, manage memoranda of understanding (MOUs), plan and lead strategic engagements for the SPP team, assemble strategic plans, lead organizational change efforts, facilitate process discovery and analysis activities, report to executive sponsors and UIT leadership, conduct outreach marketing, and manage budgets, among other things.

Shuckra holds a Master of Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in business management from State University of New York at Oswego. He also has earned numerous professional certifications, including several levels of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Cisco-certified network associate (CCNA), Prosci change management, and project management professional (PMP) certification.
