On March 29, 2024, the University of Utah’s historic Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse unveiled the new Meldrum Theatre.
Named for donors Pete and Cathie Meldrum, the Meldrum is an intimate -style theater that seats 375 audience members. The five-year project to construct the theater was made possible by a landmark $4.5 million gift. The Pioneer Theatre Company (PTC) manages the theater, which hosts productions by PTC and the university.
PTC’s next show at Meldrum Theater is “Souvenir,” which runs from December 6-23, 2024. The Department of Theatre’s 2024-2025 season includes two performances on the Meldrum Theatre stage — “The Heart of Robin Hood” from September 27-October 7, 2024, and “Xanadu” from February 14-23, 2025.
