University IT staff recognized for their excellent work!

Carrie Felton has “always been drawn to systems and structures and patterns.” The affinity shows up everywhere — in her day job designing Salesforce solutions, in the genealogical database she built to track the lineage of her extended family of 200, and in the geometric lattices of her rock and gem collection.

With new team roles and refreshed technology, UIT’s GIS team continues to position itself as a central partner for campus services that rely on geospatial data and interactive mapping.

Garikipati says a trip to Disney World, where she bought Ed Catmull's book "Creativity, Inc.," led her to a senior UX developer job with the University of Utah. Although she's new to leadership, her philosophy centers on open communication and identifying and honing strengths.

The CCoE's goal is to help the university's IT teams make informed, well-aligned decisions about cloud services.
