I’ve been having ongoing issues connecting to the EBC VPN, which I rely on heavily to access the drive and my files that support my day-to-day work. Most recently, a simple password change unexpectedly cut me off from connecting remotely.
Working from home certainly has its challenges, but Randon Reed (UETN) turned a frustrating situation into a manageable — and honestly positive — experience. Randon dedicated a significant portion of his morning to patiently troubleshoot the issue and get me fully back up and running. His calm demeanor, persistence, and willingness to stick with the problem until it was resolved made all the difference. Even while I was literally sitting on the hood of my car in a cold garage with my laptop, resting on my trash can (directly connected to the modem/router/whatever it is), he kept things light with humor, helped me stay calm, and worked through not only the VPN issue but also my wireless challenges.
What stood out most was his commitment. He took the time out of his busy schedule to see the issue through rather than passing me off to someone else. That level of ownership, patience, and respect for a colleague’s time is rare and deeply appreciated. I have tremendous respect and gratitude for Randon. His support genuinely made my day one of the best workdays I’ve had in a long time. Thank you, Randon, for going above and beyond.

I’d like to recognize Matt Munro (UIT) for consistently going above and beyond to support our team. Two recent examples highlight his dedication and reliability. When I needed to take an online proctored exam, he took the time to set up my computer, find an appropriate room, and test everything to ensure the exam would run smoothly. His support made a stressful situation so much easier. More recently, I had a technical issue just minutes before an important meeting, and Matt jumped in immediately and resolved it with seconds to spare. His responsiveness, calm under pressure, and expertise make a tremendous difference. I truly appreciate Matt’s kindness, and willingness to help!
~ Aimee Ellett, UIT
