UIT's Network Team has completed a major equipment upgrade, bringing eight links of Ethernet fiber that extend from campus to the Downtown Data Center (DDC) up from 10 Gb to 40 Gb, with the potential to be boosted to 100 Gb in the future.

UIT's new flyer, "Be A Good WiFi Citizen," outlines best practices for connecting to WiFi at the University - in addition to actions that can interfere or degrade the performance of the U's WiFi network.
The U's Network Operations Center (NOC) receives real-time metrics on the status of University applications from campus, clinical and external locations, which can be viewed on a SolarWinds-powered Health Summary Dashboard.
To get a better handle on available IP space across all devices, stabilize the University's IP address management environment and open up disaster recovery options, UIT’s network team deployed Infoblox.
With an ever-growing student population, a huge increase in mobile devices, and an increase in medical devices on campus, it's critical that the University is equipped to meet current and future growth.
