Kudos & Congratulations
UIT staff recognized for their excellent work
Congratulations to Jonzy Jones (Information Security Office) and Corky Richardson (CTO organization) for winning the last prize drawing!
Kudos and congratulations to Lisa Kuhn, Kelleigh Cole, Ray Timothy and all UIT employees who worked long, hard hours to
install equipment and software paid for by CARES Act funding. It was a complex and
difficult undertaking, with a short timeline, handled with efficiency and without
complaint. The improvements made with these installs will greatly improve the technical,
educational, and business operations of the University of Utah.
You are the best!
~ Steve Hess, Chief Information Officer
The CARES Act initiated many high-profile, big-budget, and time-sensitive projects. As a project manager for the CARES Act indoor wireless project, I want to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Network Services teams and others that made this all work.
- Wireless engineers: Curtis Larsen, Trent Cutler, Nathan Dougal, and Nathan Eldredge
- Network edge engineers: Tom Warnick, Chris Robinson, and Nick Bradberry
- Warehouse operations: David Young and Elaine Gallegos
We also got lots of help from our contracting partners and want to thank the Americom,
Cache Valley Electric, ConvergeOne and CompuNet contractors who worked with us side-by-side
every step of the way.
You all made my job much easier, and I greatly appreciate every one of you. Thank
you.
~ Earl Lewis, Project Management Office
Saraswathi Venugopal has made a seamless transition into the Finance team as a senior PeopleSoft engineer. Shortly after, COVID-19 made work from home a necessity, and her productivity never faltered.
One of our PeopleSoft student interns has shown a tireless desire to learn and has already written an SQR that was successfully implemented into production as a new part of a complex module. She is one of the quickest and brightest student interns I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Sad to say, she has yet to meet the team in person due to the pandemic.
~ Steve Wright, University Support Services
I want to give a shout-out to Heather Winters. Thank you for going above and beyond what was asked of you. Thanks for creating a training document for Workplace programming when it wasn't asked of you to help everyone understand how to do it. You are truly appreciated.
~ Samantha Lankford, CTO organization
