ISO announcement: organization realignment

Chief Information Security Officer Corey Roach is pleased to announce a set of promotions in the Information Security Office (ISO).

The following associate directors have been promoted to director:

  • Jake Johansen, Enterprise Security
  • Trevor Long, Governance, Risk, & Compliance
  • Dave Packham, Identity & Access Management (IAM)

Additional promotions in the ISO:

  • Jesse Adams has been promoted from manager to associate director of the Security Operations Center
  • Dustin Udy, former Security Assessment and Audit team lead, has been hired as the new associate director of the Security Assurance team

“It’s extremely gratifying to endorse each of these exceptional members of the ISO organization,” Roach said. “The level of technical expertise and aptitude for leadership they have demonstrated is incredibly impressive. I look forward to supporting them as they shape information security efforts at the University of Utah and develop new ways of safeguarding the data of our students, patients, staff, faculty, and affiliates.”

As the ISO continues to assume greater responsibilities, Roach said these promotions and reclassifications “more accurately reflect the scope and scale of their roles.”

“The reorganization of our reporting structure positions the team to grow and provides additional opportunities for career growth and advancement of ISO employees,” Roach said.
