DCIO org wraps year with trivia, Halloween, food drive events
Following the success of its Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament, the DCIO Smells Like Team Spirit Committee’s last three events of the year not only sought to keep boosting morale and strengthening staff bonds in the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) organization but give back to the University of Utah community.
On September 20, 2023, committee member Patrick Harris hosted trivia, with topics ranging from the arts and geography to politics and pop culture to University of Utah history. Winners received chocolate bars.
The event was such a success that the committee brought trivia back for the Halloween party on October 25, 2023, which included a screening of the movie “Hocus Pocus,” themed coloring, a murder mystery, lunch and dessert, and costumed colleagues.
The committee wrapped the year with a service project benefiting the Feed U Pantry, which assists university students, faculty, and staff. From November 15 to December 15, 2023, DCIO employees dropped off nonperishable food and hygiene items in containers on the 1st, 4th, and 5th Floors of 102 Tower. In total, the donated items filled about four 30-gallon storage totes.
