Photos: 2023 UIT Holiday Luncheon
If smiles could generate power, the ones that radiated from the faces of UIT employees as they skated the “fastest ice on earth,” sipped hot chocolate, chatted with colleagues, and more during the 2023 UIT Holiday Luncheon could have melted the ice inside the Utah Olympic Oval.
The historic venue, built for the 2002 Winter Olympics hosted by Salt Lake City, welcomed about 185 UIT staff members on December 11, 2023, for the annual holiday celebration that featured winter activities, including a curling workshop taught by Oval Director of Sport and Olympic gold and silver medalist Derek Parra using stones from the 2002 Games, broomball, ice skating, and KnockoutNet. The event also included a greeting from CIO Steve Hess, a holiday luncheon by LUX Catering & Events, shuttle services by University of Utah Commuter Services, and prize giveaway, which was announced via email. List of prize winners.
UIT Leadership would like to thank the following people who pitched in to help make the luncheon a success:
- Volunteers: Craig Bennion, Brandon Callahan, Aimee Ellett, James Harris, Emily Jacoby, and Jan Lovett
- Party planning and management: Jesse Drake, Patrick Harris, Larrisa Turner, and Cassandra Van Buren
