Duo upgrade on 3/26 features new interface, more authentication options

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Information Security Office (ISO) migrated from Duo Traditional Prompt to Duo Universal Prompt. The upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to improve the IT security, user experience, and authentication options for University of Utah systems and applications.

Duo prompt updates include:

Traditional Prompt
The Traditional Prompt allows you to select a method of authentication before generating a notification or password.

The Traditional Prompt allows you to select a method of authentication before generating a notification or password.

Universal Prompt
In addition to a new interface, the Universal Prompt automatically selects the most secure method of authentication, unless you select "Other options" to select a different method.
