Kudos & Congratulations

University IT staff recognized for their excellent work

I would like to give a shout-out to Samantha Lankford (UIT) for her consistently outstanding support. Whenever I have a question or need assistance, she goes above and beyond to ensure I receive the help I need. Even when a request falls outside of her responsibilities, she promptly directs me to the appropriate person to resolve the issue. I am truly grateful for her kindness, expertise, and exceptional customer service. Thank you for having such a remarkable individual on your team.

Sam, you continue to be a shining example of outstanding work and dedication, making our customers feel valued and ensuring their needs are met. It is always a pleasure to hear such positive feedback about you from our end users.

Thank you again for making our department shine!

~ Cindy Hanson, University Connected Learning

Thank you, Josh Darling (UIT), for taking time to provide details for my understanding and resolving my flood of tickets.

~ Trinh Lam, University of Utah Health Plans

I recently had to purchase a new cellphone, and the techs at the store helped me transfer the basic data, but I no longer had access to UMail, Duo, or calendars. Warren Worsley (UIT) kindly helped me regain access and made sure all systems were 100%. For an “Apple” guy, he persisted in setting up my Android. Cheers and many thanks, Warren! You saved the day for me.

My work laptop has recently developed calendaring issues. Mike Broyles-Shaw (UIT) added memory and spent time diagnosing the issue. When the issues continued, Mike completed additional steps to get my laptop up and working. Much of my day is spent setting and resetting meetings on multiple calendars so the improvements set by Mike are greatly appreciated, and he deserves a big thank you!

~ Judy Yeates, UIT

I want to send a HUGE shout-out and thank you to Justin Fracchia (UIT) for his quick and efficient response to my Outlook update issue I was having. It was a great relief to have him fix this and be so helpful, kind, and personable. He was able to fix the issue during a very busy and stressful time for our exam team. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

~ LeeAnn Zappitello, Center for Disability & Access

Josh Barton (UIT) and Doug Lloyd (UIT), thanks for coming to Bytes and Banter, it means a lot to connect and develop rapport. Y’all are cool!

Barb Iannucci (UIT), you are honest and open and lead with good intent.

Jason Moeller (UIT), thanks for being open to having hard and valuable conversations (always with a good sense of humor).

~ Isabelle Solvang, UIT

Andrew Liimatta (Radiology Research) not only manages our entire IT ecosystem, he also goes above and beyond! He is taking an active role in learning about and disseminating information on AI and its rapid advancement in our field. He is taking an AI course, and organizes a “Tech Tuesday” lunchtime talk series. We’re lucky to have Andrew.

~  Michelle Kline, Radiology Research

Arainna Forth (UIT) is a breath of fresh air. Always delightful to interact with, and to top it all off, makes delicious chocolate chip cookies.

~ Roy Schulz, UIT

Our office recently experienced an issue with Outlook email, and Yizhan “Yi” He (Auxiliary Services-IT) promptly stepped in to resolve it. His affable and knowledgeable approach immediately put our team at ease and gave us confidence that the issue would be resolved quickly, which it was. We truly appreciated Yi’s positive attitude and willingness to help. His support made a stressful interruption much easier to manage. Thanks, Yi!
