A team representing Information Technology Services (ITS) finished first in the 17th annual ITS-UIT golf tournament on September 10, 2026, at Rose Park Golf Course.

“UIT will be ready to win next year,” said Mark Curtz, a product manager for UIT University Support Services who organizes the event.

The event drew a full field of 18 teams. The first-place team (ITS’ Reed Barney, Joshua Spuhl, Chris Lacey, and Lance Heniger) finished with a score of 33 (3 under par). Two teams shot 34 (2 under par), so second place (ITS’ Taylor Aldous, Jeremy Farnsworth, Michael Flitton, and David Stringham) was decided by a scorecard playoff.

Other prize winners were:

  • Men’s longest drive: Taylor Aldous
  • Women’s longest drive: Hailie King
  • Men’s closest to the hole: Darrin Robertson
  • Women’s closest to the hole: Ari Stewart

This year marks the third consecutive year at Rose Park, an 18-hole course renowned for its succession of doglegs, finely manicured fairways, and occasional interruptions from wildlife from adjacent wetlands and the Jordan River.

“The weather was perfect — not too hot nor too cool," Curtz said. “The course was set up to be a bit more difficult this year, which is reflected in the winning scores being higher than normal.”

UIT and ITS leadership thank Curtz for coordinating the event.
