IT Governance

The Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) met on January 16 and the IT Architecture and New Technology Committee (ANTC) met on January 22. The Enterprise Web Advisory Committee (EWAC) will meet on February 8; TLP will meet on February 19; the Strategic Information Technology Committee (SITC) will meet on March 12; and ANTC will meet on March 25.

The Utah Olympic Oval welcomed about 185 UIT staff members on December 11, 2023, for the annual UIT Holiday Luncheon, which featured winter activities, including a curling workshop taught by Olympic gold and silver medalist Derek Parra using stones from the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Network News: 6GHz, the best Wi-Fi standard available, is coming soon

To alleviate spectrum congestion, and as part of a initiative at the University of Utah to stay at the forefront of wireless technologies, UIT is piloting Wi-Fi 6E — the best Wi-Fi standard currently available — in eight university buildings ahead of a university-wide release.
