Kudos & Congratulations

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work

Congratulations to Roger Kowallis (University Support Services) and Jasmine Haywood (CTO Service Management) for winning the last prize drawing!

I want to send out a thank you to David Young of UIT Communications Infrastructure at the Downtown Data Center for helping out the Center for High Performance Computing. We had a server that urgently needed to go back to the vendor. David stepped up and expedited that return for us.

Thanks, David, for your willingness to help! Your effort was much appreciated.

~ Alan Wisniewski, CHPC

A big kudos to Jasmine Haywood for her positive attitude and her thirst for learning. She's been on the ServiceNow team for less than a year, but is constantly learning and exhibits great professionalism.

~ Dean Murray, Chief Technology Officer organization

I just wanted to say what an asset UIT has in Sam Lankford

I’m completely aware of the ticket system, why it’s there, and the workload that your service coordinators share. There are occasions when I have had urgent matters come up, and Sam has been there time and time again over the last couple of years to help me address countless troubleshooting issues with home agents when I reach out to her directly.

We're appreciative not only of Sam, but the entire Voice Systems and Business Administration team. Thank you all.

~ James Rixe, University of Utah Health Care Navigation

Many, many thanks to Larrisa Turner and Stacy Vincent for the hard work they did putting Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) together. CSAM is a huge effort, with a lot of details and moving parts. It takes people like Larrisa and Stacy to pull it off successfully. Plus, the work Larrisa did on the website is spectacular! Thank you both, and kudos for a job well done.

~ Trevor Long, Information Security Office

This kudos is for Larrisa Turner. Over the past few months I have worked with Larrisa on a couple of different security-related efforts, including new and updated FERPA documentation and Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Both times, Larrisa was proactive and reached out to *us* to get the ball rolling on these efforts. Once the ball was rolling, Larrisa kept on top of a million little details and produced phenomenally high-quality work. Thanks to her efforts, our U community has access to clear, concise, and visually-pleasing cybersecurity information. Thank you, Larrisa! (P.S. Trevor Long also approves this message.)

~ Stacy Vincent, Information Security Office

Tyrel Marshall, David Tubbs, and David Rona, thank you for helping us find and resolve a significant issue.

Look, let's be honest here, you're the network team and we all know you catch the blame for a lot of things because you work in a zero-defect team where perfect is the standard and nobody notices anything else. No sympathy here, you signed up for it and you know the standards. Today, though, you nailed it. We had an issue, you noticed it, and you pulled the right resources together to resolve it quickly and effectively, and I sincerely appreciate it. Thank you for being vigilant, all the time, every day, and helping us all to keep this huge machine running. You three make the rest of us look good, and your performance reflects very well on the whole network team.

Thank you, and kudos to Tyrel, David, David, and the organization that supports you!

~ Chris Stucker, Information Security Office

I would like to thank Thanh Nguyen and the Web Application Development & Automation team (Dalton Clift, Chris Moore, Jon Ross, and Stephan Stankovic) for their superb service. Thanh has been helping me solve problems and put solutions in place for years, and I can't thank him and his team enough. He and his team always show a willingness to jump in and contribute. I appreciate it!

~ Shon Harper, University Support Services

Thank you, Dylan Tomac and Colby Gray, for taking my vulnerability management report requests into consideration. I now have better insight into my teams vulnerabilitymanagement status. They also provided a report in a very digestible format that will help us with prioritization. Awesome customer service and team work!

Centrify migration:

  • Thank you, Zach Zitterkopf, for working with our PS Middle Tier team to get our servers migrated off of Centrify. We are only down to one system. Thank you, Zach!
  • Thank you to Jon Ross for migrating 100% of our WADA team servers off Centrify!

~ Kim Tanner, Chief Technology Officer organization
