Kudos & Congratulations
UIT staff recognized for their excellent work
Congratulations to Emily Jacoby (University Support Services) and Dustin Udy (Information Security Office) for winning the last prize drawing!
It is totally amazing when a new laptop arrives, but so stressful, too. Will the new computer have all the tools I need to do my job? Will the features be the same? How do I install print drivers? To my rescue — Rachel Burgie! Thank you so much for the hours standing at my desk and making sure my new laptop was everything I needed. Thank you for all your help and for returning to my desk to help me and to answer questions again and again.
~ Judy Yeates, Office of the CIO
Fantastic "Meet Your Colleagues" spotlight, Jesse Drake. Thanks for your time on the article about the ServiceNow team! Love the introduction of how versions are named and that Kaylee started in Fiji. You did a great job with adding quotes and perspective of the team throughout the article and in highlighting the amazing work of the team and what SerivceNow does.
~ Phil Kimball, Service Management
I want to thank Matt Timpson and Melissa Ulfich for all of their hard work the last two months. A lot of extra work has been asked of both of you since Cathy Burbidge's retirement. You have graciously taken on the extra work and completed it with absolute perfection, above and beyond. I want all of UIT to know what an outstanding job Matt and Melissa have done and to share in my gratitude for their hard work. The value you both provide to UIT is infinite. I enjoy every day working with both of you. Thank you so much!
~ Brandon Zimmerman, UIT Finance
A BIG THANK YOU to Fernando Ferrer Anato for always being willing to help us with our video conferencing systems and phones. He is always one call (or Teams message) away and goes above and beyond in helping us. We appreciate you!
~ Alijana Kahriman, School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry
I could and should thank the entire Strategic Communication team (Cassandra Van Buren, Jesse Drake, and Larrisa Beth Turner) every month. They are constantly supporting our efforts, making them more successful and less disruptive. Their support of our ongoing Duo enrollment effort has been one of the biggest factors in its *relatively* painless progress. I'd like to particularly point to Larrisa, though, for her endless patience in working with me on various communication efforts. She's always one step ahead, always does fantastic work, and improves every communication effort. Thank you, as always, to the StratComm team — you are truly a team that adds value to everything we do.
~ Chris Stucker, Information Security Office
I'd like to thank a group of very talented people for sharing their knowledge with me and starting to give me a better understanding of a subject in which I knew little and they knew much. They gave me their time and shared their expertise. The subject isn't important, but the willingness to endure stupid questions and explain basic concepts is crucial, and they did that for me. It's both humbling and energizing to see the expertise sprinkled all over this organization, and to see people who are willing to lift others up by sharing it. Kudos and a huge thank you to Earl Lewis, David Tubbs, Trevor Overby, Ray Carsey, and Abraham Kololli for the tutorial, their patience and kind endurance of my dumb questions, and helping me start to learn something new.
~ Chris Stucker, ISO
Kudos to Nathan Eldridge, senior network engineer. He's been a great mentor and help since I started the job. His knowledge and advices are very helpful. And also, he is an excellent explainer.

I cannot thank Tony Le and Nash Jeppsen enough for the amazing support, organizational skills, and great communication they have had coming into our department as our new IT team. They have worked hard to get inventory organized according to policy, making sure faculty and staff devices are updated and appropriate for the work being done. I know they have a lot they are continuously working on and when stopped in the hall for a “quick fix,” they are always willing to help and always with a smile. Thank you again for your help over the past few months — it has been monumental.
~ Courtney DeMond, Department of Family & Preventive Medicine
I've been meaning to give a shoutout to Alexia Adair for literally months now. Her website designs are spectacular and showcase the incredible things that can be done in the Omni CMS template, but it's her positive light and energy that I wanted to recognize specifically. She's like the life coach of our team and reminds us all of how important it is to look at things from different perspectives. She challenges and inspires everyone around her to do better and to be better — both professionally and personally. I could gush over her awesomeness all day long, but to put it simply, Alexia is the bee's knees.
~ Emily Jacoby, University Support Services
Kudos to Alexia Adair and Roger Kowallis, who jumped on a Teams call within minutes to help me with some questions I had about website accessibility and design in Omni CMS. Their advice and expertise saved me a considerable amount of time troubleshooting an issue, and improved the overall design and accessibility of the website for our users.
It's clear that customer service is a priority for the Omni CMS admins on the Content Management & Usability team (Alexia, Shellie Eide, Emily Jacoby, and Roger) because they always respond quickly to my many web-related questions, requests, and troubleshooting issues. You all are the best!
~ Larrisa Beth Turner, Strategic Communication
I'd like to thank Tina Nguyen for ensuring that my team receives the contact information for the Duo 2FA project on time and formatted correctly each week. It's a huge help to be able to open a file and do my work without having to go back and forth for corrections. Thanks so much, Tina!
Ditto for Emily Rushton, who always sends us correctly formatted contact information and such well-written announcements and/or detailed communication requests. Thanks, Emily!
~ Larrisa Beth Turner, Strategic Communication
Thanks to Chris Stucker and Dustin Udy, who often provide links to IT security articles that we can share with our ISO Twitter followers. You make my team's job easier by providing timely, relevant content for our readers, and honestly, it's so nice not having to search for tweet ideas all the time! Thank you both!
