Kudos & Congratulations

UIT staff recognized for their excellent work

Congratulations to Larrisa Beth Turner (Strategic Communication) and Amir Masood (CTO organization) for winning the last prize drawing!

Many thanks to Emily Jacoby, Shellie Eide, and Roger Kowallis for fielding my questions about accessibility and implementing the CAS for UIT org charts. I'm always impressed by their quick and excellent service.

~ Larrisa Turner, UIT Strategic Communication

I was totally stumped when I could not log back into my computer following a software update. I tried everything I knew how to do but could not get logged in. I reached out to Matt Munro, who knew exactly what to do and fixed my issues within 10 minutes. Thanks, Matt. for all the help — you are amazing!

~ Judy Yeates, Office of the CIO

Huge kudos to Heather Winters, who has helped me a couple times since I started in the Department of Pediatrics as a new administrative assistant. She is thorough, quick to reply, and incredibly helpful. I'm always so grateful when she catches things I've missed, asks for more information, and helps me get the job done as fast as possible. Thanks Heather!

~ Hannah Keating, Department of Pediatrics

Earlier this month, UIT Help Desk agent Randall Felter researched and shared detailed, well-written information when a recent set of system-generated messages were confusing users. The context he provided during trouble-shooting really helped us get to the solution more quickly. Thank you Randall!

~ Cassandra Van Buren, UIT Strategic Communication/Office of the CIO

Gordon Kafton is a wealth of knowledge, an awesome person to work with, and just an all-around good guy. He is always available to help end users and colleagues.

~ Tyler Chmelik, University Campus Computer Support (College of Mines and Earth Sciences)

Recently, over a weekend, Jeff Hatch was doing one of his periodic tests for voicemail to see if it was working properly for Centrex users. He called the PMT line and noticed that voicemail was not picking up. He put in a ticket to get this fixed on Monday with the UMail team. Corey Winn from the UMail Team found the problem and resolved the issue prior to any of our end users knowing that there was even an issue.

Thank you, Jeff, for being proactive in finding the issue, and to Corey Winn for getting this fixed.

~ Syndi Haywood, CTO organization
