Software savings make life at the U more affordable

We get it — being part of the U community is an honor, but it often involves related expenses. Good news ... UIT’s Office of Software Licensing has negotiated campus agreements with top software vendors to provide students, faculty, and staff access to certain products for free or a reduced price.

Indigenous students use digital technologies as storytelling tools

$3.7M earmarked for student-related technologies and services

The University of Utah has earmarked approximately $3.7 million next fiscal year for student-related technologies and services. The funding is the result of the annual Learning Spaces-Student Computing Fee process.

DLT helps Ute students learn graphic design skills

About 50 students from the Ute Indian Tribe visited the University of Utah in early June for the annual Ute Storytelling Camp, which included an Adobe Creative Cloud workshop hosted by UIT Digital Learning Technologies.

Student intern certification program gets green light

A Canvas-hosted certification program for UIT student interns is expected to launch in October. The course will comprise three modules: the first two will pertain to students in any IT role, and the third module will provide role-specific training.

UIT has promoted around 45 interns to full-time staff since 2012

Although they could take jobs at well-known private-sector tech companies, UIT student employees often decide to pursue and accept full-time positions in UIT after their internships because the organization offers unique benefits.
