U of U rolling out 2FA for UMail, O365 for campus employees

The Duo Security app requires that users verify their identity to log in.

Starting September 15, 2020, the University of Utah will roll out the second phase of its security upgrades, which will require all campus faculty, staff, and affiliates to use two-factor authentication (2FA) for UMail and all Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams.

The Enterprise Web Advisory Council (EWAC) met on August 13. The next Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) meeting is August 31. The Strategic Information Technology Committee (SITC) will meet again September 8. EWAC will reconvene September 10. The IT Architecture and New Technology Committee (ANTC) will meet again on September 28.
