Earl Lewis has done an awesome job managing an enormous project to install 1,500 wireless access points in 40 buildings — in only four months! It’s a massive undertaking but he has kept cable contractors on schedule, coordinating with building managers, Facilities Management people, and local IT contacts. This allows us to make awesome improvements to the Enterprise Wireless LAN. Thanks, Earl!
~ Curtis Larsen, Chief Technology Officer organization
Kudos to Ken Kizer, Brad Zumbrunnen, and the ISO Security Ops team!
Ken, Brad, and ISO SOC all put in extra effort to expedite and accommodate several last-minute firewall changes needed to complete the migration of Space Planning’s web applications to a supported platform. The migration was completed successfully on schedule thanks to their help!
~ Chris Moore, Chief Technology Officer organization
I’d like to thank McKenzie Spehar for following up with me after I spoke to her about the NTLM change. She wanted to make sure that everything is working with the account and that I didn’t have any issues. ... Keep doing a great job, McKenzie Spehar!

I would like to give a shout-out to the USS Spooky Skeleton Crew: Shenia Sellers, Kelsey Loizos, Aimee Morgan, Emily Jacoby, and John Fresco. They put together a really creative, and genuinely fun, virtual Halloween party for USS staff. It went WAY beyond my expectations for a “virtual gathering,” and both my kids and I had a really great time!
~ Barb Iannucci, University Support Services
I just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to the Service Coordinators team. With all that has been going on with the “new normal,” the VP debate, the many employees who are switching to remote work, and so many other things that get thrown our way, they have done a tremendous job of staying positive and getting orders done on time. I am truly thankful to have them on my team. Thank you Heather Winters, Cory Hale, and their student employees, I couldn't ask for better coworkers. Keep up the great work! You guys are awesome!
~ Samantha Lankford, Communications Infrastructure
Vaibhav Narula and Tina Nguyen in the Information Security Office have been helping me get UMail and Teams accounts working after the Duo Security upgrades in August. They are amazing. I have been bugging them almost nonstop since it all started and they have been available for me most of the time and ready to help. I am so grateful for their help and can’t believe how quickly they respond to my requests. Thank you both so much.
~ Beth Sallay, Communications Infrastructure
Vijay Kammili was so knowledgeable in helping fix every trouble ticket I sent in for system issues. He addressed every issue even if it wasn't sent to him. He made my job a lot easier today and moving forward.
~ Brandi Kenney, Dermatology Billing
I just want to share about how helpful Julia Harrison (UIT Voice Services) is and has been for me and my team.
Starting during the pandemic, Julia was so quick to help me get new numbers created and everything in place so I could move my call center home. I did not think it would be done so quickly, but Julia made it happen. And this was a very stressful time as there had been some positive COVID-19 cases with other employees working in the Care Navigation building. But Julia made it happen fast.
If I ever need help, Julia is always willing to help me. She just makes things happen. And I appreciate that about her!
Anyway, Julia deserves some kudos for being such a great team members and an extension of ensuring we provide exceptional care to our patients!
