Birds of a feather really do flock together. University of Utah mascot "Swoop" flew in to help generate school spirit May 29 at the UIT Spring Party, held this year at Tracy Aviary inside Liberty Park.

Every year, the U’s Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) IT governance committee awards Learning Spaces - Student Computing Fees (LS-SCF) funds. For the 2017-18 award cycle, the portfolio awarded $2.86 million.

The IT Professionals Forum Board of Directors has elected Steve Harper as new board president, and the larger ITP community has elected Dan Clawson as its new board member.

The Enterprise Web Advisory Council met on April 27, the Strategic Information Technology Committee met on May 15, and the Teaching and Learning Portfolio met on June 20. The Architecture and New Technology Committee did not meet in May or June. The next ANTC meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 23.

Three members of UIT's leadership team (UITL) toured the university's Downtown Data Center (DDC) warehouse on June 12.
