Scott Lloyd manages the Campus Help Desk and Operators team in the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organization. The busy 12-person desk – five full-time staff and seven part-time student employees — answered approximately 50,000 calls and 10,000 emails in 2020.

UMail account migration to Exchange Online starts on June 1

Outlook

Starting Tuesday, June 1, 2021, UIT will begin to gradually migrate all University of Utah and University of Utah Health faculty and staff UMail accounts from Microsoft Exchange Server (hosted on campus) to Microsoft Exchange Online (hosted online by Microsoft infrastructure).

Final notice: Oracle Java license expired on May 22

IT leaders are issuing a final reminder that the University of Utah’s extended Oracle Java subscription license expired on Friday, May 22, 2021, and will not be renewed. System administrators who haven’t yet identified and migrated tools and systems that rely on Oracle Java must immediately address this issue.
