About three years ago, Aimee Ellett and her granddaughter, Blakely, began painting three to four birdhouses each summer to hang up on the Lagoon section of Farmington Creek Trail and in their yards.

About 60 people turned out for the annual event, which included nine holes of golf, a UIT-hosted burger bar, and prize giveaway at Forest Dale Golf Course. Only one point separated first and second place teams.

Two and a half months after they first met for a kickball game, UIT employees from the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) organization and Software Platform Services (SPS) in the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organization laced up their bowling shoes for a friendly rematch.

Although they could take jobs at well-known private-sector tech companies, UIT student employees often decide to pursue and accept full-time positions in UIT after their internships because the organization offers unique benefits.

UIT is pleased to announce that Josh Gross has been named manager for the Campus Help Desk and Operators team, Brian Harris has been named interim director for UIT Data Management & Analytics, and Dave Packham has been named associate director for Identity & Access Management.

About two dozen UIT employees from Software Platform Services (SPS), University Support Services (USS), and a couple of other teams recently met for a friendly game of kickball.

Within the past 16 months, the following people have been promoted from associate director to director: Gary Carter, Tom Howa, Abraham Kololli, Jason Moeller, Kim Tanner, and Cassandra Van Buren. Please join the UIT Leadership Team in congratulating them.

UIT is pleased to announce that Jeff Shuckra has been promoted to associate director for the UIT Strategic Planning and Process Team, reporting to Deputy Chief Information Officer Ken Pink.

Brandon Zimmerman has been promoted to associate director for UIT & UETN Accounting & Finance, effective April 16, 2022. He previously served for three years as accounting and finance manager for the team.

Syndi Haywood, associate director for UIT Voice Services and Business Administration, recently received the 2022 James McCune Smith Award of Veneration from the U’s Black Cultural Center and Black Faculty and Staff Association for being an awe-inspiring example of dignity, wisdom, dedication, and excellence.
